4/12 Playlist

"I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over.
Out on the edge, you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center"
-Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Music is my life.  Here's my life this week~*

*Side Note: I'm kind of scared that all my years of blasting the radio so loud is making me deaf
(Since I keep getting random "whooshing" sounds in my ear, and it'll pop randomly)
Either that.... or I'm just getting really old  O_O

Beyonce: Halo          * Such a beautiful song and video
Taio Cruz: Break Your Heart        * Sooo catchy. Just can't get enough!
Epik High: One         * I listened to this song a lot when I went through a serious depression. It made me cry hearing it again....
"He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it"- Matthew 10:39
Jesse McCartney: Body Language    * Cute pop song that reminds me of last Spring.
"Parlez Vous Francais? Konichiwa, Come and move in my way"
Electric President: Insomnia    * "Why are you up so late? As in all the time?" -e.m.p.
Here is my song~*
"I sit and watch the screen for a message. Some kinda sign that says we’re OK. But the screen stays blank till I turn the thing off, And wait for my conscience to break"
Kesha: Your Love Is My Drug/ Blah Blah Blah      * Her album is surprisingly really catchy! Listened to while Spring Cleaning~
"Maybe I need some rehab, or maybe just need some sleep. I've got a sick obsession [Facebook] I'm seeing it in my dreams"
"Don't be a little bitch with your chit chat. Just show me where your dicks at"  haha.. I'm SOOO kidding~ but it is a funny line  ;)
Muse: Super-Massive Black Hole    * Great song... and I love the "Twilight" video. Hi Robert Pattinson. You're so pretty. Please marry me.... I promise to behave

P.S.   Yes, that picture of my Odometer (?) at 0 miles is for real.
I was driving from the city (Manhattan), and wanted to see how far I could go without any gas.
I was scared my car would run out of gas in Pal Park when I was driving with literally no fuel... but I made it!
It was AWESOME.  And now, I'll never do it again........ hopefully.
(Sigh... iRene.....I know... I don't know what to do with myself, either~*)       =P

(Yay! I made it!!!)

Garden State: The Magic of the Movie and the Music ~*

"That's life. If nothing else, It's life.
It's real, and sometimes it f*ckin' hurts, but it's sort of all we have"

There are certain movies that touch my soul to the core. (Haha.. sounds so hard core, right?!?)
Ok.. maybe it's not that intense... but I just really really love them and they become a part of my life.
I'll go into my thoughts about movies that change my life (in ways however huge or insignificant) another time...

Today, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite movies..... GARDEN STATE!
Not only does it take place in my home state, but it is a fantastic movie that has great dialogue, beautiful cinematography/scenes, a great soundtrack, and themes that I really relate to or that make me think.

The movie is partly autobiographical, depicting Braff's own emotions while he was writing the screenplay.
"When I wrote Garden State, I was completely depressed, waiting tables and lonesome as I've ever been in my life. The script was a way for me to articulate what I was feeling; alone, isolated, 'a dime a dozen' and homesick for a place that didn't even exist."

I think this is a great Quarter-Life Crisis movie... I like the simpleness of the movie, and the fact that if you look a little deeper, there's a whole lot more to it (Kind of like the Infinite Abyss!!!)    =)

4/4 Playlist

" Music is what Feelings sound like"
iRene: "Ahhh.. Spring is right around the corner"
tCho: "Irene, Spring officially started 3/20"
iRene: "Shoot... Are you serious?!?!  I have to change my Korean Beacon Article!
I wrote that Spring is right around the corner!!!"

Here's the music I've been playing on repeat (and I can play the same song over and over for hours...)
This is my life in music right now.

Selena Gomez: Naturally    * This is the song I have on repeat.  Sooo catchy... Love it~ for now.... (but the video is such a bad imitation of the White Stripes' Seven Nation Army!)
Amanda Seyfried: Little House     * I have listened to this song 1,000 times in the week since I discovered it.  I love her voice. I love the lyrics. I even wrote about it cause I want everyone to love it, too (Most of my friends like it and have been patient with my playing it over and over again. Thanks, girls)!
Big Bang: 붉은노을   * I played this a lot while driving before I went to L.A., In Christina's car in L.A., and now that I'm back home.  Best pump up song right now.  Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Remy Zero: Fair    * Recently rediscovered this song.  The last song I smoked to before quitting. It was a pretty big decision
Miley Cyrus: Goodbye   * I listened to this sooooo much last year.  Love the "story" of the song...♥ Miley~ haha)
Train: Hey Soul Sister    * I listened to this a lot before they played it on the radio, but got into it this weekend when Tracy kept wanting to hear it.  Such a happy song!  "I'm soooo obsessed"   Also love the Kollaboration Version!
The Killers: Mr. Brightside, Spaceman, Read My Mind       * One of my all-time favorite groups. They have the BEST music intros and awesome music videos.  Sooooo talented~* Loves It!
Nirvana: All Apologies, Lithium  * R.I.P. Kurt Cobain.... Cheers to changing the world of music (and the lives of many angsty young adults) ~* ♥ "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not" "Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person u are" -Kurt Cobain
"I'm so happy 'cause today, I found my friends. They're in my head", "I'm so horny, that's okay. My will is good"
Colbie Caillat: I Never Told You      * Just heard this song~ Sooo pretty  =)

Hope you enjoy these songs as much as I do!  =)

This is Me~ Take it or Leave It! =)

"Je Suis Qui Je Suis"
("I Am What I Am")

Hello. Bongiorno. Konichiwa. An Nyung. Yo Yo Yo~ What Up!
So I have decided that I will be writing a new blog.  I already write two blogs (irenekimmakeup and Korean Beacon)... but this one is for personal use.

Recently, I've realized that I have a huge Facebook Addiction and it's affecting my life. I know it sounds stupid... but it's true.
Literally all my friends that I see have commented that I have a problem...... Perhaps my biggest problem is that I need new friends     ;)
In all honesty, I realize that I have become addicted to FB, it's affecting my relationships with real people... and I need to take a step back.
So... this is going to be my outlet into all the things I love, whether it be people, movies, quotes, music, food, travel, books, shopping, and all the other fabulous things in the world that life has to offer~*

A few people have suggested that I keep my Irene Kim Beauty about Beauty Related topics... and although I wanted to encompass all the different aspects of my life (all of which I found to be different aspects of beauty)... perhaps they're right and I should keep Irene Kim Beauty for Business, and keep something else just for myself.
I was really proud of my blog and the fact that I could write about anything and everything.... but perhaps it is a little too "all over the place".

This blog is more personal. It's going to be pretty much the same stuff I would post on Facebook, but more for myself and people that are interested in the things I have to say and share.

I hope you read this because you can also appreciate all the beauty I see in this world... but if you can't... I really don't care.  This isn't about how many subscribers I get, or how many people read this blog....
It's about me remembering what I was interested in, what I was thinking, and what made me who I was at the moment. Life goes by soooo quickly... and I want to remember every minute of it~*

If you have similar interests, are introduced to something you'd never heard of, learn something new, feel something new, or something I write/show you gives you a new perspective..... that's AWESOME.
If not...... that's OK.

I do hope people will read this and enjoy the things I write about... because there are sooo many wonderful things in this world that I see, and I love sharing it and my life with other people!

So, if you're bored, have a lot of time, want to experience something new, are a friend (or future friend) of mine, and/or are a stalker... Here it is.....

I am an Open Book.          I wear my Heart on my Sleeve.        I am a Magician.
I hope you come along for the Adventure that is my life...

Please Fasten your Seat Belts.
     You're in for a Bumpy Ride~*   =)
